5 hits and 5 runs scored

I was just looking at a 2009 Topps Heritage Chrome Dustin Pedroia baseball card, and on the back it noted that this past season, he became the first Red Sox player to have at least 5 hits and 5 runs scored in a game. Here are the 25 guys to do it since 1956:

For such a rare feat, we see a number of statistical oddities. Last year, Texas was victimized twice. In 2005, the Yankees did it twice. In 2004, the Royals (of all teams!) did it twice!
Notice that the player's team never scored fewer than 10 runs in any of these 25 games, and only Juan Encarnacion's 1998 Tigers team lost the game. The teams averaged 16.5 runs in these games.

That's an interesting list. A couple of things that struck me -- in addition to the Royals striking twice (only four days apart!).
Only two -- Adrian Beltre and Rondell White -- hit for the cycle.
Ripken's game was 'post-streak'...pretty much his last hurrah.
Shawn Green's included a record-tying 4 home runs.
The only one on the list who drew a walk during the game was, of all people, Luis Polonia, although Berroa was also hit by a pitch. (Did either of those plate appearances account for one of their runs scored?)
I remember Rennie Stennet's amazing 7-7 game. I also remember Detroit's Cesar Gutierrez going 7-7 in a '71 game, but he must have scored fewer than 5 runs.

How about that Larry Parrish game in 1977? He hit 3 of his 11 HRs on the season in that game and scored 5 of his 50 runs, talk about boosting your stats. What amazes me is that that he did it from the 8-hole in the order, which is pleasant surprise for any manager to get form the bottom of your lineup.

Cesar Gutierrez went 7-7 in a ‘71 game? I thought Stennet was the only one.

Let me correct myself. Gutierrez' game was in '70...June 21. He scored only 3 runs in that game, though.
