Having homered in his first plate appearance, Johnny Damon has a chance to become one of the oldest players to have a multi-HR post-season game:

Damon is about a month shy of his 38th birthday.

    Looks like I featured the wrong catcher in the day game!

    Shoppach is now 5 for 10 off C.J. Wilson, with 3 HRs and 4 walks. His career regular-season OPS against lefties is .909, with 28 HRs in 416 ABs.

    hey! who's the oldest player to call a home run on the next pitch? what is left out of that story is that he hit two that day, and so did gehrig. but also that ruth was 37 years old, which was not young for baseball back then. and whether he called it or not, he was definitely being heckled by 30,000 people, and it sure must have felt good.
