Some 1988 Topps trivia

Posted by Andy on January 11, 2008

Here are a few bits of trivia inspired by baseball cards from the 1988 Topps set, plus a shameless plug for a new blog of mine (see below.)

If you like this kind of stuff, check out my new blog 88 Topps Cards, where I'm posting each and every card from the 1988 Topps set. In addition to cool stats like those above, I'm also commenting on the cards themselves. I won't ordinarily double-post the same stats here and there. Keep reading this blog, of course...I'll still be posting here every day.

OK, that has to be one of the greatest blog ideas ever. I look forward to two years of great reading!

I remember completing the Topps and Donruss sets in 1986. My friend and I did it by buying pack after pack, the old school way. We'd trade each other cards we needed. Great days. I think the 1986 Donruss set is very handsome.

I don't have many 1988 cards, so it'll be fun to read the blog!

Well if you like that, be sure to check out some of the links on the sidebar of the 88 Topps Cards blog. My particular favorite is the 83F Project, where a guy named Scott is collecting autographed copies of all the cards in the 1983 Fleer set. He's posted very nice quality scans of all the cards he gotten so far, which is a ton.
