  1. Zachary Says:

Were any of those after an earlier home run had cleared the bases?

Also, ol' Javy Vazquez must be happy Grandy is a teammate now!

  2. koma Says:

the masterpiece was on 2007-07-23 when he homered off the very first pitch of the game.

  3. Andy Says:

Neat that he did it twice in one game.

Also, this is an overall impressive list of pitchers..!

  4. Steve Lombardi Says:

Zachary - that's possible. I would need to check and see if any of those were after an earlier home run had cleared the bases.

  5. Evan Says:

Granderson's splits page credits him with 52 HRs in 1081 PAs leading of an inning. He has 2909 PAs for his career so 37% of his PAs have been leading off an inning, but half his home runs have occurred during these situations.

  6. Steve Lombardi Says:

Evan, good thought! Here's what the splits page has for him leading off an inning:

  7. Steve Lombardi Says:

So, maybe 2 of those 54 HRs were after an earlier home run had cleared the bases.

  8. Kahuna Tuna Says:

So, maybe 2 of those 54 HRs were after an earlier home run had cleared the bases.

    Exactly two.

4/14/06: Inge precedes Granderson and hits a solo homer.
5/10/06: Inge precedes Granderson and hits a three-run homer.

  9. Steve Lombardi Says:

    Nice work Tuna.
