Updated Minor League Seasons

SABR Minor League Blog - Updated Minor League Seasons

We were a couple of weeks behind SABR's latest and greatest, but we've now update our db to sync with theirs.   This means walks, strikeouts, RBI's, SB, and runs scored for more and more seasons.

I like what David Smith of RetroSheet said at the SABR convention.  These are improvements we never have to give back.  Every step forward is a ratchet that improves the site and the data we have.

I'm trying to find the date of a particular International League game from 1964. It was Jacksonville at Rochester, and it was a night game in the second half of July or the first few days of August. I know that Rochester won. I may only be able to narrow it down to a handful of games if Rochester managed to beat eventual league champion Jacksonville at night at home multiple times in that time frame. Does anyone know if there is any type of International League game log or schedule from 1964 anywhere online?

Places I have already tried - this site's minor league section and the Rochester Red Wings' website, although I haven't gone as far as contacting the team.

Have you contacted either the Rochester or Jacksonville public libraries. Perhaps you can get a librarian to check their newspaper microfilm files for you?

@2 Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't seriously begun to pursue this yet. That was the first minor league game I ever attended, and I didn't get to another one until 43 years later.

Rochester beat Jacksonville at home on July 28th and 29th of 1964. Mike McCormick pitched a complete game victory on July 28th and Rochester scored runs in the 7th, 8th and 9th to beat Jacksonville 5-4 on the 29th. This was taken from the August 15,1964 issue of the Sporting News, pages 29 and 30. Hope this helps narrowing down your search.
