Three triples in a game: one of the rarest birds of all!

The comment about 3 triples got me thinking. Mays is the only one who has had a 4 HR and a 3 3B game in his career. In the retrosheet era, he also showed 39 games with exactly 2 2B's. I will leave it to someone else to tabulate the countless games where had just 1 single.

  2. Johnny Twisto Says:

881 times! (just since '56, of course)

12 times with one single and two doubles.

  3. spudart Says:

Lance Johnson--the only player to ever have three triples AND three singles in one game.
